Renaming Java Titles

The following steps will guide you on how to rename a Java Application / Game so that your desired name will appear on the phone.

Note: You must acquire the following software.

0 - Archiving software - e.g. WinRAR, WinZip.

1 - Open the .jar file using one of the above software. I suggest on using WinRAR because it retains the file structure of the archive.

2 - Navigate to the file system and double click on the META-INF directory.

3 - Extract the MANIFEST.MF into your hard disk and the open it using any text editor that you may have. e.g. Notepad, or Wordpad.

4 - You will see something like MIDlet-Name: XXXXXX where XXXXXX corresponds as the name of the midlet. Edit it to your liking then add it back to the archive above replacing the previous MANIFEST.MF file.

5 - Enjoy

p/s : You can also edit the icon size of the midlet for it to be uniform with the other icons.

Increase Your MMC Storage Space

Your files in MMC are stored in multiple (disk) blocks so if you format using 16K block, the space used will be 16K eventhough your file is just 1K.

If you buy MMC, it is usually preformatted with 16K block. Therefore, alot of space is wasted as most installed program files are usually less than 2K.

You will need a card reader to do this:-

1. Connect card reader and copy all your files in the MMC to computer disk. (Make sure you set the show all/hidden/os files to 'on')

2. Do a format of the MMC using command line 'format' and use the /A=size option.

Alternative, you can use the Disk Management in Adminstrative Tools to format. Make sure you select FAT.

For 256MB MMC, smallest block you can use is 4K, 128MB is 2K, 64Mb is 1K and 32MB is 512B.
(Note: You cannot use the phones 'format MMC' to do this as the format just clear the allocation table and does not change the block size)

3. Copy back all files to MMC.

Now you will find that you will have more space.

256MB MMC got back 30+ MBs

Do this at your own risk!
Be sure to close memory card cap after you inserted it to your phone.

A SMS once deleted can’t be read again….but sometimes we hurrily delete some important SMSHere is the technique that must be followed to retrieve deleted SMS.Required utility:

1) Any system explorer or file explorer program (eg. fileman or fexplorer.provided with the package)

Step 1) Open Fexplorer

Step2) Select drive C: or D: depending on the memory in which the Sms messages have been saved.

Step 3) For example u selected c: , Then open “system” folder.

step 4) Then in “system” folder open “mail” folder.

step 5) Then in this folder u will see different folders (eg 0010001_s) and certain files (eg 00100000). These files are the actual messages. Browse through every folder and open all files till u get the sms u are looking for.

step 6) For opening the files don’t choose options>file>open as it will show format not supported rather choose options>file>hex/text viewer.By selecting the “Hex/ text viewer” u ll be able to open and read the deleted SMS message
